Tears & Laughter
Tears & Laughter is Norwegian singer-songwriter Bendik Finborud's first album. Ranging from soft and acoustic to raw and brutal, the album explores grief and heartbreak.
For the past few years, this grief has been the subject of his music however, he says:
“I think Tears & Laughter might be the ending to that long exploration of grief.”

Where Norway’s inhospitable winter meets the US’ searing folk tradition, we find Bendik Finborud. (25) The young songwriter plays intimate folk pop with lyrics about life as a hopeful, love craving young man.
In 2022 Finborud released his first full length album, Tears & Laughter. The first single from the album, “Bargaining”, was released in the summer of 2020, accompanied by a self-made hand painted music video. The video consists of just under 2000 separate acrylic paintings, traced (rotoscoped) on thin paper over a computer screen. Ballade.no called it "[...] one of the most beautiful things we've seen in a long time." The video has also earned a nomination for best music video at Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF) 2020.
